Hi, everyone!

It's so great to be on the Winner's Bench!  I don't want to consider myself a loser - only a winner!  A winner at overcoming adversity ... a winner at changing my life for the better ... a winner at beating the weight loss game!

I had a GREAT experience - a wonderful team of doctors and anesthesiologists, nursing care and friends who have supported me.  Lisa visited me in the hospital ... what a wonderful surprise when she presented me with a protein basket - how thoughtful!!!!  The phone has been ringing off the hook and the emails of support and encouragement are overwhelming .... I spent hours yesterday at the computer trying to catch up ... not to mention, the numerous phone calls taken in between hitting "send" or "reply"!  LOL!

I feel GREAT!  Just a little soreness .... but no ... let me say again, NO pain!  The only nausea I felt was right after surgery - while in recovery - and the doctors and staff addressed it immediately.  One other occurrence of nausea was when the morphine had been discontinued - but I wasn't using it that much - and, I walked the halls shortly thereafter ... I felt a little sick to my stomach.  I only had to ask for one dose of the liquid elixir pain med just because the discomfort after the walk had increased slightly.  Haven't had to use any pain meds since getting home.

I'm having trouble getting all the protein in ... I KNOW I haven't hit 70 grams, yet!  I sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk ... and concentrate on getting all my vitamins and supplements in (that I'm not having any trouble with).  I'm on pureed and clear liquids, but I'm not hungry ...

I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts, prayers, and the kindness extended to me, which I believe, combined with my positive mental attitude and God's hand have been instrumental and will continue to be, with my success!

Blessings and best wishes -

Lori

Lori - you have had a great experience and it makes things so much easier when you feel good.
And you know the important thing is to keep hydrated not so much to get in all your protein.  So continue with sipping and walking....

I KNEW IT!!!!  I just knew you were gonna be one of those people who didn't need pain meds!!!  I am in awe of your progress, girl!  Seriously, when I saw you, I couldn't believe you'd had major surgery the day before!

Don't force the protein....just do the best you can, and sip on something constantly.

I'm more worried about you taking it easy, but if you MUST clean bathrooms, how 'bout coming over and doing mine! LOLOL!

You are SO gonna rock your RNY!  I look forward to reading about your progress!
